Send Help, The Fanny Pack Is Actually A Thing
In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in the midst of a major resurgence of the 80s and 90s. Logo tees, grunge, normcore (hello, we’re all still borrowing from Seinfeld with our white sneakers obsession) so it seems inevitable that the fanny pack was going to make its own comeback at some point - and what a comeback it’s been. Heralded into 2017 and 2018 by designers like Chloe, Gucci, and Tommy Hilfiger, the fanny pack is reaching cult status.
It’s even been re-baptised under the new name of the ‘belt bag’ - no longer is our dad’s beloved fanny pack restricted to the derrière, with celebrities, influencers and fashion icons alike donning their belt bags across their chests and over their shoulders. Sure, it might feel ridiculous that what was once so demode is back, but it’s hard to argue against that hands-free advantage.
At the end of the day, we’re all about trying new things, or old things made new again, but dare we describe the belt bag as chic any time soon? We dare not.
